Unity in Diversity

Prayer circle with hands clasped

The old Catholic Church welcomes you to experience a modern Catholic Church where all are truly welcome.  We are a network of communities that embrace a faith steeped in profound respect for each individual, which reflects the infinite love of Jesus. “In Christ there is no Jew or Greek, slave or citizen, male or female.  We are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:38

We believe every baptized person is an equal member of the Body of Christ.  Representation of all voices is fundamental to a vibrant and complete expression of church.  The voices of the laity, clergy and bishops work together to govern our communities and our Church.  This belief is so fundamental to how we see the church that we are governed by assemblies made up of laity, clergy and bishops, which allows us to wisely incorporate the insights, knowledge, and understanding of all God’s children.

We share a common theology and liturgical tradition with the wider Catholic community.  We practice an active and inclusive expression of modern Christian thinking.

Our liturgy and sacraments will be familiar to those from a Catholic background; however, we celebrate the gift of members from all denominations.  We recognize that the gift of Christ which is the Eucharist is not a prize open to only a few.  We welcome all to receive and celebrate the divine gifts of Christ’s grace.  We believe that church should be an experience manifesting Christ’s unconditional love and support, a truly caring oasis where all are welcome.  Aware of God’s immeasurable love and desire for us to live as examples of that love, our communities place no barriers to full participation in sacramental and community life of the church due to marital status, sexual orientation or contraceptive choices.  We acknowledge that these are decisions best made by an individual in light of their personal circumstances and not by broad stroke rules.

We recognize that every member of the Body of Christ has unique gifts and skills, and that God calls each of us individually.  In God’s wisdom, we know that the call of ministry is not limited by any human classification and so we do not discriminate as to race, national origin, marital state, gender or sexual orientation.  All are welcome to explore how they are called to serve God’s people.  If you are feeling an invitation from the Lord, we encourage you to contact us to discuss the options available to you.

Come, share our joy!
